Notes In Aug 1880, Charles Barzarkie, 2 (along with sister Tereza Barzarkie, 4, arrived at Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, in a group of 66 Louisa Birt children en route to Knowlton, Quebec, Canada, aboard the Sardinian. (His other sisters, Elizabeth and Mary Catherine arrived in April 1880.)
Orphaned 1870's-80's. Originally from Italy where his father was a glass maker. Moved to (Liverpool) England, where mother died of tuberculosis. His father could not look after 4 children and handed them over to Barnardos. Father hoped to return to Italy.
