NotesA birth registration was found for Clara Annie Swash: Year of Registration: 1886; Quarter of Registration: Oct-Nov-Dec; District: Liverpool (1837-1934); County: Lancashire; Volume: 8b; Page: 97. Parents: Robert Peter Hawley Swash and Emma Ellames, married 1876 in Birkenhead, Merseyside, England.

Clara's father, Robert Swash, deserted the family. Clara was sent in 1900 to the Liverpool Sheltering Home. Three brothers remained with their mother, Emma Swash.

In 1900, Clara Swash, 13, arrived at Quebec, Canada, in a group of 54 children from Liverpool Sheltering Homes, Liverpool, Lancashire, England, accompanied by Mr Andrew Drummond to Louisa Birt's Home at Knowlton, Quebec, Canada.

Clara was sent out from the Liverpool Sheltering home in 1900 after her father deserted the family. Three brohers reained with the mother. her sister, Charlotte, until 103 years.She was a servant for an elderly couple in Richmond, Richmond County, Quebec.

On April 22, 1911, at Pembroke, Renfrew, Ontario, Canada, a marriage was registered between Clara Annie Swash and Henry Wm Berry.

Clara lived to the age of 77 years, passing away on December 30, 1973, in Renfrew, Ontario. Her sister, Charlotte, lived to be 103.
