Terms-Board and Clothing. Boy is not satisfied, says he is badly treated and overworked. Employer says the boy is not giving satisfaction, that he is a bad and dirty child, and that he will return him. Most of the neighbours stated that they believe the child is not receiving very good treatment. Southwark Catholic Emigration Home notified 22/2/98

Age 16, good home, employed at farm work generally, health good, no sickness since arrival, church and school attendance, Roman Catholic Church, Huntley, character fair-inclined to be morose, terms board, lodging and clothing. The boy prefers life in England to that in Canada, although he makes no specific complaint or objection. The accounts given by Mrs Grace and John Mehan are not very satisfactory, they did not get along with Keating, Patrick Mehan however thinks that the boy although slow at present will turn out better than at first expected.
