In 1882, Oliver Abbott, 8, arrived at Quebec, Canada, in a group of 36 children accompanied by Rev. Lord Archibald Douglas en route to Ottawa.

On April 23, 1900, at Notre-Dame-de-Gr?ce, Hull, Quebec, Canada, a marriage was registered between Oliver John Abbott, of age, parents unknown; and Mary Ann Kelgay (born 1884), daughter of John Kelgay and Mary McGuire.

Oliver John and Mary Ann Kelgay Abbott had at least 12 children: John Andrew Walter Abbott (Andy) (born May 23, 1900, died 1901); Joseph Oliver Eric Abbott (born 1905, died 1912); Marie Ida Liliane Abbott (born about 1907); Joseph Thomas Andre Abbott (born 1908); Mary Florence Sybill Abbott (born 1909, died 1910); Mary Florence Sybill Abbott (born 1910); Joseph Francis Erik Abbott (born 1913, died 1986); Joseph Eddie Andy Abbott (born 1914); Mary Catherine Eliza Patricia Abbott (born 1920, died 1946); Anne Marie Francoise Elizabeth Bernadette Abbott (born 1922, died 1923); Bernard Abbott; and Marie Francoise Cara Bertha Abbott (born 1924, died 1981).


Oliver John Abbott died in 1962 in Quebec, Canada. Mary Ann Kelgay Abbott died in 1968. They are buried with some of their children at Notre-Dame-de-Gr?ce Cemetery, Section B, 74 Boulevard Fournier, Gatineau, Hull, Quebec, Canada
