Notes In 1896, T. Andrews, 9, arrived at Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, in a group of 173 Macpherson children accompanied by Rev. Wallace and en route to Belleville, Ontario, Canada.
Thomas Andrews had been originally sent by Wandsworth Union. He was placed with John Dafoe, farmer, Gilmour, Hastings, Ontario. Inspection on 9 April 1897 showed:
"Age about 11, comfortable home, employed at chores about the house and helps to feed cattle, health good-attends church regularly, school - five months per year, character-hard to manage at first now better, no complaints. Terms-Board, Lodging and Clothing. Gives satisfaction."
