Notes In 1901, Donald Hay, 67, and children James A, 24, George D, 20, and domestic Thomas Topham, 12, in Pittsburgh, Frontenac, Ontario
Sent by Wharfedale Union, placed with Thomas Powers, farmer, Trenton, Murray Twp, Northumberland, Ontario
June 4 1902
Age 14, satisfactory home, employed at farm chores, good health, attends Methodist Church, Sunday School and Public School, character good. Terms-Board, Clothing and Schooling at present. They describe him as having a mean disposition but a splendid worker. He does general work-attended school from December-April. He objects to going to church and raises a fuss when the subject is mentioned. I should judge that he is rather a stubborn boy and hard to manage.
