Notes Sent out age 12 on 28 March 1894 by Kensington Union with Mr Wallace
1894, with Wells Darling, Lynn,
James was husking corn when I called, he is a bright boy and well liked by Mrs D. He will go to school this winter, also attends Sunday school.
August 3 1895, with John Green, Marathon, Ontario
James was not doing well with Mr Darling, so it was thought advisable to remove him. He is now with Mr Green and we hope will get on better. He has grown and looks well.
May 9 1896, with John Green, Marathon, Ontario
I found James just getting the house and waggon ready to start work. He is healthy and has gained 15lbs in weight lately. Goes to church and Sunday school. He is improving and much more obedient than formerly. Receiving $3.00 a month.
May 1897, with John Green, Marathon, Ontario
James disappeared one evening last June taking $5.00 out of Mr Green's pocket with him. He has not been heard of since. He had an excellent home and there was no reason why he should have acted so.
