Notes In 1893, William Edwards, 11, arrived at Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, in a group of 169 Marchmont children en route to Belleville, Ontario, Canada.
22nd August 1894, with Mrs Wilson, Rockdale, Ontario
Willie is in a comfortable home with reasonable people who do not expect much of him and where he might do well if he could only try, he seems though, to have no desire to improve and is just as impertinent and disagreeable as can be. He also has bad habits at night and altogether is a most unsatisfactory boy
November 16 1895
with Widow Frank Wilson, Rockdale, Ontario
Willie is a big strong boy for his age. He has ......... a good character since coming to Mrs Wilson, she says he is a good smart lad, learning to do all kinds of farm work. To go to school this winter, if not will receive wages, goes to church and Sunday school.
August 21 1896, with Widow Wilson, Rockdale,
Willie has never been a very satisfactory boy, who is not improving, is impertinent, and sulky, will not attend church or school. I found him digging potatoes
