Notes Betty Taylor, 75: Athens: Elizabeth (Betty) Taylor, 75, of Philipsville, died at the Maple View Lodge, Athens, on Monday, November 23 after a lengthy illness. Elizabeth Morrison was born at London, England on May 27, 1912. She came to Canada in 1923 with Dr. Barnardo's Home children and was placed in the Newbliss area until she gained employment with the Fred Bedor family in the Harlem area. She married Robert TAylor in December of 1935 at AThens and was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She attended Philipsville and Elgin United churchs and was a member of Philipsville UCW. She enjoyed baking and knitting for church bazaars and other community social events. She is survived by her husband Robert, son Robert and his wife Sherrill of Oakville, daughter Brenda (Mrs. R. Trodden" Mississauga, and grandchildren Jennifer and Heather Taylor, Cindy and Bobby Trodden and great grandchildren Natalie and Andrew. The funeral was held on Thursday November 26 in the chapel of the Scotland Funeral Home, Elgin. Interment was at Harlem Cemetery. Pollbearers were Fred Warner, Don Ready, Clarence Hutchings, Jerry Saunders, Edwin Chant and Arthur Chant.
