A "Home Boy" at Brighton, Ontario, Comes Into a Big Fortune in England.
Brighton, Aug. 13.--W. E. Sculthorpe, a Marchmont Home boy, who has for nearly nine years been employed by Mr. O. C. Lawson, one of the district's well known farmers, has received a notification from London, England, asking him to present himself at Temple Bar on September 1. The letter says that on that day Sculthorpe would be 19 years of age, and the heir to 200,000 pounds sterling.
Sculthorpe left last week for England to claim the fortune.
[POSSIBLE MATCH] On September 9, 1912, at Canandaigua, Ontario, New York, USA, a marriage was registered between William E. Sculthorpe, 34, barber, born in London, England, to William E. Sculthorpe and Elizabeth Moore; and Catherine Bergin, 27, clerk, born in Canandaigua, New York, to William Bergin and Catherine Madden.
[POSSIBLE MATCH] On September 12, 1918, William Elisha Sculthorpe, 41, registered for the United States Draft. He declared that he resided at 56 Griffith Street, Rochester, New York; that his date of birth was September 5, 1877; that he was white; that he was born in England; that he was a barber working at the NYC Depot; and that his next of kin was his wife, Catherine Sculthorpe. He was described as short; heavy; brown eyes; brown hair.
