NotesBirth of a Zorah Annie Chaplin was registered in Apr Qtr of 1883 in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, England. Parents: Thomas Chaplin and Sarah Ann Stevenson, married 1879 in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, England.

In 1892, Zorah Chaplin, 9, arrived at Quebec, Canada, along with a group of 60 Maria Rye girls en route to Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario, Canada.

"Annual Report for 1892 of Miss RYE's Emigration Home for Destitute Little Girls, Avenue House, High Street, Peckham", supplied by the University of Liverpool Library:

Z.C., aged 9 (Zorah CHAPLIN 9 - M2); parents not fit to have the charge of child. Mr P.W., Retired Farmer, Dromore, Palmerston Station, Ontario. To be treated as one of the family.

On March 23, 1904, at Norfolk, Ontario, Canada, a marriage was registered between Boush Chaplin, 21, born in Cheltenham, England, to Thos Chaplin (mother's name unknown); and Charles A. Roberts, 21, farmer, born in St. Thomas, Ontario, Canada, to Joseph Roberts and Jane Coles.
{Note added 21.06.15 from jlnorthrup : Zorah's marriage record has been transcribed as "Bousch Chaplin", however upon viewing the actual record it does say "Zorah Chaplin". The clerk's handwriting was rather sloppy and, along with the unusual name, led to the transcription error.}
