1911 English Census records place Jane and Emily Jane Bracknell (16) in North Warnborough, Odiham, Winchfield, Hampshire, England. Also in residence is 80 year old boarder Henry Crosby Paine.

Attestation papers were signed 19 Mar 1915 in Guelph, Ontario. Henry George Bracknell was born 7 Nov 1895 in Odiham, England. A farmer by trade. His Next of Kin was Mrs. J Bracknell of North Warnboro, Odiham, Hampshire, England. 5'5" in height with blue eyes and brown hair, he had 4 vaccination marks on his left and right arms. His religion was noted as Methodist.

Commonwealth War Graves Registers and Circumstances of Casualty state that he had previously been reported wounded and missing in action, and then for official purposes was presumed to have died on or since 13 Jun 1916, around the area of Zillebeke, West Flanders, Belgium. His Circumstance of Casualty record notes him as 'Harry'.
His Next of Kin, Mrs. Jane Bracknell had two listed addresses, the first was 14 Manor Road, Rushall,
Turnbridge Wells, Kent, England and then Orchard Cottage, Curtisdeu Green, Goudhurst, Kent, England.
