Notes In 1890, John Hayes, 13, arrived at Quebec, Canada, along with a group of 77 children accompanied by 3 Sisters, Fidelis, Humiliana and 1 unnamed en route to Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
On January 3, 1921, John Hayes, 44, died in hospital at Bowmanville, Durham, Ontario, Canada. His cause of death was the result of a head injury from a fall which brought a concussion, hemorrhage to the brain and heart failure. He was born in England, his birth date was unknown, his parents were unknown. He had resided in Canada for 28 years and in Durham for 9 years. The informant was M. J. Elliott, no relation. He was buried in Bowmanville.
On January 17, 1921, the Lethbridge Daily Herald reported:
John Hayes, a farm laborer near Bowmanville, a former Barnado boy, who died following an accident, leaves an estate of $15,000.
