with Edward Byrne, farmer, P.O Bells Corners, Carleton, Ontario
November 15 1900
Age about 14 years, home advantageous, I should judge, employed at usual farm chores, health good, attends Roman Catholic church not school, character generally satisfactory altho' inclined to be untruthful. Terms-Board and Clothing and $1 per month.
Thomas was first in the employ of A Jansen, farmer, Wilno Post Office but during the present year he was transferred to his present address. He likes living with Mr Byrne and seems quite contented, has ample clothing, work not too arduos, is well treated and is generally satisfied. He ought to do well here. Mr Byrne finds him a smart boy. Altho' not entirely satisfactory Mr Byrne has hopes that he will improve. He appears to be anxious to keep him.
