Notes[POSSIBLE MATCH] A birth registration was found for James Henry Beatey: Year of Registration: 1873; Quarter of Registration: Apr-May-Jun; District: Steyning; County: Sussex; Volume: 2b; Page: 251. Records from Marchmont, who list him as Henry Wellesley Beattie, (received from Barnardo's) state that he was born in Sussex, his father a gentleman and mother a servant.

In 1901, Henry Beattie, 26, farm labourer, was shown residing at Matilda, Dundas, Ontario, Canada, with his wife, Sarah A. Beatty, 24; and daughter, Catherine B. Beatty, 1. His date of birth is shown as April 27, 1874, and his immigration year as 1888.

Henry worked in Ogdensburg, NY from 1907-1921, then returned to Canada.

Henry Beattie was married at least 3 times:

1. Sarah Ann Burley and had 3 children: Kate, Jennie and Mary Ellen Beattie.

2. Lotta Redmond and had 3 children: Edward, Charlotte, and Henry Jr. Beattie.

3. Margaret Francis Isabell Serviss: No children known.

Last known whereabouts of Henry was in Iroquois, Ontario, 1923. It is rumored that he went to live in Montreal and died there in the 1960s.
