NotesEmma came over to Canada on The Bremen setting sail in Liverpool on 18 February 1904 and arriving in Halifax on 27 February 1904. Her brother Joseph 6 and her sister Sarah Ann 10 were on the same ship. Her sister Sarah was placed with the family of Barthelemy Catudal and Josephine Isola Agnes Boisse in Ely South, Shefford Co., Qu?bec, Canada while Emma and Joseph were placed together with the family of Steven Haslette and Ella Minerva Norris in Ely North, Shefford Co., Qu?bec, Canada. The three were a part of the Liverpool Sheltering Homes and were placed from Knowlton Qu?bec.

Emma married George Emerson Richard on 29 Jan 1927 and said she was born in Burkingham or Birkingham England as was her father. Emerson died at the age of 89 in 6 April 1973

Emma appears on the 1974 Voters list as Mrs Emerson Richard for South Durham

Emma died in 1991 and is buried with her husband in Saint James Cemetery, South Durham, Drummond County, Quebec. The transcription from her headstone and burial record gives her year of birth as 1899 and the 1911 Census and her marriage record agree with the year of birth as that of 1900. I've gone with the year of 1899 because her burial record has a complete date for her birth.

As far as I can tell, Emma and Emerson never had any children.

What I found very interesting is that on both her and her brother Joseph's death records it lists parents. On her's it has George and A. Clark. On Joseph's record it has simply G. and A. Clark. Did they find out who their parents were?
