NotesIn 1901, Lillie Masterton, 6, and her sister, Jessie Masterton, 8, were shown as residents of the Kilmacolm Orphanage, Bridge Of Weir, Renfrewshire, Scotland.

In 1905, Lillie Masterton, 10 (along with sister Daisy Masterton, 12) arrived at Quebec, Canada, with a group of 84 children from the Orphan Homes of Scotland going to Fair Knowe, Brockville, Ontario, accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. D.J. Findley of Lanark, and Mr. George Roberts, a widower from England.

Dave Bulford has in his possession a personal diary entry of Edward Charles Bulford, of Athens Ontario (his Gt. Gt. Uncle). The entry on July 20th 1905, states:

"Lily Masterton aged 10 years arrived from Scotland on the 17th, and came to live with us today."

An original letter of Mary Quarrier from Bridge-of-Weir, dated, 24th May, 1906 addressed to "Dear Mrs. Bulford", states:

"I have your letter, and am glad to have such a good report of Lily. I hope she will continue to give satisfaction. and be a help and comfort to you, as well as a sincere follower of the Master. Remember me to her.

"With Best Wishes, I am , Sincerely,
(Signed) "Mary Quarrier"

Edward Bulford passed away just one year later on October 23rd, 1907, and the 'diary' ceases.
