In June, 1922, Walter Elphinstone, 18, farmer, travelled back to Liverpool, England. He declared that he intended to stay at Gelly Cottage, Llengedock, Carmarthenshire, Wales (staying with his brother). He did not intend to reside in the United Kingdom.

On December 4, 1922, Walter Elphinstone, 19, was debarred as a Likely Public Charge from crossing in to the United States through the border of Buffalo, New York.
