NotesIn 1911, Rachel Achesen, 18 (along with sister, Maggie Achesen, 20) arrived with 54 young persons, all domestics and labourers, en route to Quebec, Canada.

On October 14, 1914, at Blenheim, Kent, Ontario, Canada, a marriage was registered between Rachel Acheson, 21, born in Ireland to James Acheson and Mary Ann Doherty; and Henry Morrison Mairs, 21, farm laborer, born in Ulster, Ireland [EDITORS NOTE: Actually born May 22, 1895 in
Belgamore, Ireland), to James Mairs and Isabella Cameron.

Henry and Rachel Acheson Mairs had at least 4 children: Anne Margret Mairs, born 1919 in Blenheim, Kent, Ontario, Canada (died 2000); Helen Isabele Mairs, born 1931 (died August 28, 2008); Evelyn Mairs; and James Mairs.
