NotesGeorge's Obit:
COFFEY, George - Peacefully at Dearness Home, London, on March 10, 2010, George Coffey went to be with his Lord. Dear father to Michael Zandri and wife Sally. Sadly missed by grandchildren Todd (Andre'), Jason (Sahar), September (Randy), Jessica, and Michaila; and also great grandchildren, Emily, Michael, Sara and Luke. Also fondly remembered by niece Julie, husband Colin and son Graham from England. Dear friend of many years to Aldis Murray, Jim Maher and daughter Jessie and Marianne Allard. George had a beautiful active life up until just this past month. He lived independently until his 100th birthday celebrating as only George could, with friends and good food, and always left room for dessert. And of course tea with his sugar was part of his daily routine. George came to Canada as a Home Boy, settling in St. Eustache, Quebec. He is pre-deceased by his wife Grace (1989).George worked for GM for less years than he collected his pension! He could be seen at Tim Horton's at Citi Plaza every day until he moved into the retirement home at 100 yr of age. He loved Victoria Park and living in his Queens Court apt. were he oversaw the construction of One London Place. He was a long standing member of St. Peter' Cathedral until he moved to the nursing home and adopted St. Justin's parish as his own. Visitors will be received at the JOHN T. DONOHUE FUNERAL HOME, 362 Waterloo St. at King St. on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 o'clock. The Service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday morning, March 13, 2010 at 11 o'clock. Private family interment in St. Peter's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider adopting or supporting an orphan through one of the many agencies, or contribute to a charity of your choice in memory of George
