Feb 23 1900

with James H Myers, farmer, P.O Waterford, Kings, NB

Age 14, fair home, employed at farm work; principally about cattle, health generally good, a little deaf at times but is improving.
Attends Baptist church, has not attended school here, character-his is a truthful and obedient lad. Receives board, lodging and clothes. With the exception of expecting him to do too much work. Frederick Curtis is well satisfied. He says that he is treated well. Mr Myers expressed himself as being satisfied with the lad. Mr Myers is this Winter engaged in lumbering, and employes a number of men, who are at present boarding with him. I do not consider that the presence of these men in the home are beneficial to the morals of a boy. Mrs Myers who keeps for her son (James H Myers) quite appreciates this, and from what I learned from the boy, I am satisfied that he is well looked after by her

August 1 1902, with Priestly Easterbrooke, farmer, Midgic, Westmoreland, NB

Age 15, Cooper has shifted about considerably since my last report, and I had trouble locating him. He had a situation at the Sackville Academy at $5 per month and his keep, but was unable to hold it. The Salvation Army, I understand, interested themselves in him, and sent him to a farmer near Midgic. He does not receive wages. His appearance is very shabby. He is a stout healthy boy and should be able to do a fair day's work. His prospects are not promising here, as his employer is a man of very limited means
