HURTS PROVE FATAL TO YARD FOREMAN

Police Investigate Accident to Sidney Fishbourne on Railway Tracks

Injuries he received when he was struck down Friday night by a D.P.R. yard engine under the York Street bridge proved fatal to Sidney R. Fishbourne, aged 35 years, C.P.R. yard foreman, 741 Indian Road in the Western Hospital on Saturday morning.

Fishbourne, who stepped in front of a backing engine as he superintended the coupling of a number of freight cars, suffered heavily from loss of blood. His left leg was completely severed and his right leg was fractured, but he retained consciousness through part of the night, counselling his wife and relatives not to worry.

In West Toronto, Fishbourne was well-known as a member of the Victoria Presbyterian Church, in which he took a very active interest. The police are investigating the accident.

He is buried at Prospect Cemetery in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
