NotesA birth registration was found for Thomas Whitehouse: Date: June 12, 1892; Place: 141 Angelina Street, U.S.D.; Mother: Hetty Whitehouse, Cycle Polisher.

In 1902, Thomas Whitehead, 10, arrived at Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, in a group of 117 Middlemore children.

On July 3, 1914, at St. Marys, York, New Brunswick, Canada, a marriage was registered between Leah B. Harrison, 20, born in Birmingham, England, to Harry and Eliza Ballard; and [another Middlemore BHC] Thomas Whitehead, 22, labourer, born in Birmingham, England, to Thomas and Harriet Whitehead.

At least twelve children were born of this marriage.

On May 31, 1915, at Sussex, New Brunswick, Canada, Thomas Whitehead, 23, enlisted in the Canadian Armed Forces. He declared that he was born in Birmigham, England; that his next of kin was Mrs. Leah Whitehead, who resided at St. Marys, York, New Brunswick, Canada; and that he was a laborer. He was described as 5 foot 5-1/2 inches in height; medium complexion; blue eyes; light brown hair. He was a member of the Presbyterian faith.

Thomas was a sapper who served in Great Britain, France and Belgium, first with the 2nd Pioneer Battalion, 2nd Canadian Division and then with the Canadian Light Railway Construction Company (later the 2nd Tramways Company).

Leah Ballard Whitehead died on September 21, 1958.

On July 3, 1959, Thomas Whitehead remarried Robina Susanna Logan Owens, widow of Steven John Owens.

Thomas Whitehead died on October 13, 1976, in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. He is buried at Pinecrest Cemetery, Section S, Lot 277 S1/2.
