Philip Martin died in the Boer Wars. [EDITORS NOTE: A P. Martin, Private, 1st Battalion, Connaught Rangers, was killed at Ladysmith, February 23, 1900, during the Boer Wars.]

Alice Maria Bailey Martin remarried Thomas Chambers about 1901.

Philip Martin was admitted to Copperfield Road School, Tower Hamlets on August 22, 1904. (Opened as a Dr. Barnardo's Charity School and later became known as Copperfield Road School after being taken over by the LCC in 1905. Closed in 1908.) Discharged October 21, 1904.

He declared that he resided in Grenfell, Saskatchewan, Canada; that he was bonr in London, England; that his next of kin was his sister, Ida Jane Martin, who resided in Mount Pleasant, Ontario, Canada; that his date of birth was August 28, 1895; that he was a farmer; and that he was not married. He was described as 5 foot 4 inches in height; light brown complexion; brown eyes and hair. He was a member of the Church of England.

On July 24, 1920, at Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, a marriage was registered between Philip William Martin and Annie Amy Franko [daughter of Stefan Franko and Paraska Boychuk].

At least three children were born of of this marriage: William Emo Martin, born July 21, 1921, at Sundown, Manitoba, Canada, died April 27, 1961, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada; John Irving Martin, born June 26, 1925, at Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, died June 29, 2007, in Escondido, San Diego, California, USA; and Thomas Martin, born June 26, 1925, in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, died 1999, in Phoenix, Maricopa, Arizona, USA.

Philip William Martin died February 28, 1961 in Quebec, Canada.

Annie Amy Franko died on May 3, 1987 at St. Boniface, Manitoba, Canada.
