NotesIn 1901, Robert Board, 8 years of age, and his brother, Charles Boad, 10 years of age, were shown as a residents of Kilmacolm Orphanage, Bridge Of Weir, Renfrewshire, Scotland. In 1907, Robert Boad, 14 (along with brother Charles Boad, 15) arrived in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, with a group of 102 Quarriers children en route to Brockville, Ontario, Canada.

On December 12, 1912, at Ottawa, Carleton, Ontario, Canada, a marriage was registered between Robert Boad, 20, waiter, born in Forrest, Scotland, to Sir William Boad and Lady Helen Whitecross; and Annie Dempster, 19, born in Cowdenbeath, Scotland, to Alexander Dempster and Margaret Bain.

Robert and Annie Boad had two children, Robert Boad, born 1914; and Dorthy Helen Boad, born 1916.

On June 5, 1917, Robert Boad, 23, registered with the United States Armed Forces. He declared that he resided at 623 North 63rd Street, Seattle, Washington, USA; that he had declared intention to become a US citizen; that he was born in Forress, Scotland; that he was a citizen of Scotland; that he was a packer with the Swift Co. (Packing), in Seattle, Washington; that he had a wife and 2 children and claimed exemption from service due to their support. He was described as short, slender, with blue eyes and light brown hair.

Annie Dempster Boad died February 14, 1919 in Mason County, Washington, USA. Robert remarried Dorothy McManaman, the adopted daughter of James and Hannah McManaman, prior to 1920.

Robert and Dorothy Boad had six sons: Roy and LeRoy Boad (twins); William Boad; Charles Boad; Benjamin Boad.

In 1920, Robert Boad, 26, farmer, was shown residing at Clifton, Mason, Washington, USA, along with his wife, Dorothy M. Boad, 22; Robert W. Boad, 5; Dorothy H. Boad, 3-9/12. Robert declared that he had immigrated to the United States in 1913. Robert Boad died September 7, 1964, in Mason County, Washington. He is buried with his wife, Dorothy M. Boad, who died on August 2, 1960, in Twin Firs Cemetery, in Mason County near Belfair, WA on Sandhill Road, off North Shore Road, Row III, Block 1, Lot 6.
