On 8 October 1901, Arthur Thomas Stiff baptised at All Saints, Battersea, son of Abram and Blanche Maria Stiff, of 39 Longledge? Street, occupation-Bricklayer.

There three more children born after Arthur namely Laura born c January 1903, Frederick born June 12 1904, and Gracie Maria.

A death registration was found for Abraham Stiff: Year of Registration: 1910; Quarter of Registration: Jan-Feb-Mar; Age at Death: 52; District: Wandsworth; County: Greater London, London, Surrey; Volume: 1d; Page: 281.

In 1911, Arthur Thomas Stiff, 9 (along with brother, Abraham A Stiff, 10), arrived at Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, in a group of 205 Barnardo boys en route to Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Passenger list record shows his next of kin was named as mother, 39 Long Haye St, Battersea.

On October 18, 1925, at Toronto, York, Ontario, Canada, a marriage was registered between Arthur Thomas Stiff, 24, labourer, born in England to Abraham Stiff (he did not know his mother's name); and Marjorie Leone Watson, 23, born in Ontario to Joseph Watson and Flora Longfield.

Arthur Thomas and Marjorie Leone Watson Stiff had at least one child: Grace Flora Stiff, born February 1,1927, in Toronto, York, Ontario, Canada, and died June 30 1996.
