NotesOn 12 June 1918, Florence Ethel Wells, 21, born England, daughter of John Wells and Emily Greenwood, married Nelson McMullen
in Manvers, Durham, Ontario

The Greenwood family of Oxfordshire

Elizabeth Greenwood married Alfred Wells in 1899 and was the mother of Ellen and Florence. In the 1901 census she is with her husband and daughters in Chaundys Yard ( see The Harris Family)
This poor woman had the terrible experience of loosing her husband , he had TB and died in 1904. The anxieties of loosing the breadwinner must have been overwhelming and her two eldest girls were sent to Canada when they were tiny children in order to give them a better chance. Her daughter Minnie died in March 1902 when her husband must have been suffering the effects of TB- the year of her husband?s death saw the birth of her son William, significantly not named after his father- There is a birth registration at Headington for a William Alfred Wells Dec 1903

She married Henry Musto in Oxford March 1908 3a 1277 and they appear on the 1911 census (see attached image) She had a child by Henry Musto and her own small son William with her
