Notes Sent to Canada by Gloucester Union, placed with James Miller, farmer, Island Brook, Quebec, inspection undertaken on 12 Sep 1898
Age 16, employed at farm work, choring, health good, no sickness since arrival, church-methodist and english, character-good, very little complaint. Terms-Board, Lodging, Clothing and $3 per month during summer, and in winter enough pocket money. There was no complaint here and with the exception of an 'off day' the boy is very satisfactory. Mr Miller and family get along well with him very well. He can go to school if he so desires. Was in 7th Standard in England.
