NotesRobert's parents were George Fawcett (born 1864) and Elizabeth Leah Chandler (born 1863).

George Fawcett died in Southwark, London, England in 1898 and was buried in the Nunhead cemetery. (Year of Registration: 1898; Quarter of Registration: Jul-Aug-Sep; Age at Death: 34; District: St Saviour Southwark; County: London, Surrey; Volume: 1d; Page: 91.) Five of the children also died in close proximity to their father's death.

Robert Fawcett was admitted with his surviving two brothers (Charles and Harry) to Barnardos Homes on November 5, 1900. One daughter, Jane E. Fawcett, remained with their mother.

Robert Fawcett, 10, along with his brothers, Charles and Henry Fawcett, arrived in Portland, Maine, with a group of 260 Dr. Barnardo children from London, England, to Toronto, Ontario (193), Peterborough, Ontario (6) and to Russell, Manitoba (60).

In 1906, Robert Fawcett, 17, was shown as a hired man for W. D. Henderson, in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. His immigration year is 1901.

In November, 1913, Robert Fawcett crossed into the United States through Blaine, Washington. He stated he was 24 years of age; that he was a carpenter; that his nationality was Canadian; that his next of kin was his mother, Elizabeth Fawcett of Hamilton, Ontario, Canada; that his final destination was Oakland, California. He is noted by the authorities as being a contract laborer and passage was paid by a friend. He had emigrated from England in 1901 and entered Boston, USA, on the Tunisian. He was described as 5 foot 7 inches; fair complexion; brown hair; and gray eyes.

Robert's mother, Elizabeth Chandler Fawcett, emigrated to Canada and died in Ontario in 1948.
