NotesA birth registration was found for Charlotte Swash: Year of Registration: 1885; Quarter of; Registration: Jan-Feb-Mar; District: Liverpool (1837-1934); County: Lancashire; Volume: 8b; Page: 133. Parents: Robert Peter Hawley Swash and Emma Ellames, married 1876 in Birkenhead, Merseyside, England.

Charlotte's father, Robert Swash, deserted the family. Clara was sent in 1900 to the Liverpool Sheltering Home. Three brothers remained with their mother, Emma Swash.

In 1900, Charlotte Swash, 15 (along with sister, Clara Swash, 13), arrived at Quebec, Canada, in a group of 54 children from Liverpool Sheltering Homes, Liverpool, Lancashire, England, accompanied by Mr Andrew Drummond to Louisa Birt's Home at Knowlton, Quebec, Canada.

Charlotte was sent out from the Liverpool Sheltering home in 1900 after her father deserted the family. Three brohers remained with the mother, Emma.

In December, 1905, Charlotte Swash, 21, domestic, returned to the United Kingdom on the ship Lake Manitoba. She returned in 1906.

On October 20, 1906, at Montreal, Quebec, Canada, a marriage was registered between Charlotte Swash and Gerald Bishop.

Gerald and Charlotte Swash Bishop had at least nine children: Dorothy Bishop (1907 ? 2003); Gerald Bishop (1908 ? 1913); Kenneth Bishop (1910 ? 1977); Blanche Bishop (born 1912); Gwendolyn Bishop (born 1914); Bertram Bishop (1916 ? 2003); Robert Charles Bishop (1919 ? 1980); Evelyn Bishop (1921 ? 2002); Francis Bishop (1924 ? 1924).

Gerald Bishop, a British citizen, returned to England in the late 1920's, where he died twenty years later. [POSSIBLE MATCH - Gerald Bishop, 57, born about 1878, arrived in England on the ship Acania on October 28, 1935.]

Charlotte Swash Bishop died March 10, 1987, at the age of 103 years in Cornwall, Ontario, Canada.
