NotesHe was born to Frederick, a fly proprietor and driver, and Elizabeth (Barrows) Loach. He is shown as living with them in 1901 in Folkestone, Kent, England, along with a brother, Alfred, and a sister, Mabel.

By the time Frederick left for Canada, there were nine children born to this couple: Frederick Loach, Albert Edward Loach, William George Loach, Mabel Loach, Richard Loach (1900-1901), Herbert Loach, Horace Edwin Loach, George Loach, and Clarence William P Loach.

In 1910, Frederick Loach, 15, arrived at Quebec, Canada, along with a group of 5 children en route to Niagra-on-the-Lake, Ontario, Canada. (His sister, Mabel Loach arrived in 1914 on the Calgarian with 26 children to Niagra-on-the-Lake, Ontario, Canada.)

Frederick is also listed in the 1911 Census of Canada as a domestic living with William K Fuller and family in North Ward, Sherbrooke, Quebec.

In June of 1918, he was living at 23 Wilson Street, Sherbrooke, Quebec, and working as a restaurant clerk. He joined the military at this time and is described as 5 foot 6 inches, blue eyes, fresh complexion and fair hair. He lists his mother as next of kin.

According to Pauline Brampton:

({website}townshipsheritage.com/Eng/Articles/Research/homechildren.html), "He grew up to be a very successful business man in Sherbrooke and Lennoxville. His restaurant was known all over the Townships for the best strawberry pie ever made. He of course has since died but every time I go by the place where his restaurant was I can almost taste that pie. Ask any one in the Townships about Fred Loach and they will remember him fondly."

No marriage or death record found.
