NotesIn 1901, Edgar Ganney, 2 years of age, was shown residing at 7 St. Johns Road, Tottenham, Middlesex, England. Other family members included his mother, Clara E. Ganney, 23, widow, charwoman; and his brother, Fredk Ganney, 5.

In 1910, Edward [Edgar] Ganney, 13 (along with his brother Frederick Ganney, 14) arrived in Quebec, Canada, with a group of 109 children accompanied by Mr. Merry en route to Stratford, Ontario, Canada.

In 1911, Edgar Ganney, 14, is shown as a labourer / farm labour with Alex Pelton and family in Zorra West, Oxford, Ontario, Canada. His date of birth is shown as May 1897 and his immigration year as 1910.

On March 17, 1915, Edgar Ganney enlisted in the Canadian Armed Forces (33rd Battalion). He declared he was born in London, England; that his next of kin was Mrs. E. Ganney [this was his wife, Mrs. Edgar Ganney], who resided at 857 Queens Avenue, London, Ontario, Canada (originally, but crossed out after his marriage in November, 1915, his next of kin was recorded as Alice Ince [Edgar's aunt], who resided at Finsbury Park, London, England); that his trade or calling was farming; and that he was not married (this is corrected to "married Nov 10 '15"). He was described as 5 foot 7 inches; medium complexion; gray eyes; brown hair. He was a member of the Presbyterian faith.

On November 10, 1915, in London, Middlesex, Ontario, Canada, a marriage was recorded between Edgar Ganney, 18, Army volunteer 66F 33Bn, son of Frederick Ganney and Nellie Robinson, and Helene J. Snelling, 18, daughter of James H. Snelling and Mary J. McKinnon. Edgar stated he was born in Tottenham, Middlesex, England and Helene in Bruce County, Ontario, Canada.

On March 17, 1916, Edgar Ganney sailed from Canada on the SS Lapland, arriving in England on March 25, 1916. His Army papers stated the following:

Helena died on July 2, 1949, and Edgar Ganney died on May 25, 1965, in Windsor, Ontario, Canada.
