NotesA birth registration was found for Agnes Kathleen M Lane: Year of Registration: 1888; Quarter of Registration: Jul-Aug-Sep; District: West Ham; County: Essex, Greater London; Volume: 4a; Page: 71. (Parents: William James Lane (died in 1891 and was buried in West Ham Cemetery) and Sarah Agnes Mary Martha Woodcock.

Agnes was admitted to Barnardo's on September 13, 1894, aged 6 years 4 months, together with her sister, Lily Mary Lane. Agnes and Lily were said to be tall for their age, were fairly intelligent and were well-behaved. Mother, Sarah Agnes Mary Martha (Woodcock) Lane, was living at 334 Queen's Road, Plaistow, England. One brother, Edward James Lane. aged 8 years, was residing in Children's Infirmary at Plaistow with a diseased knee joint awaiting an operation. Her maternal grandparents were David W. Corti Woodcock and Sarah Woodcock. Paternal uncle: John Lane; Maternal Uncles: Corti Cameron Woodcock, Douglas Walter Woodcock, Claude F. E Woodcock. Paternal Aunt: Elizabeth North, Matailda Crouch, Mrs. Gerrard, and Ada Cortina Woodcock.

Agnes Lane and her sister, Lily, arrived in Quebec on October 9, 1904. She was picked up on October 12, 1904 from the station in Caledonia, Ontario. On April 12, 1905, Agnes changed situations to Dundas, Ontario, and on October 12, 1906, left to go to Hamilton, Ontario, and on December 6, 1906, was reported to be married to Wilfrid Davis of Hamilton,. On September 30, 1907, her sister, Lily, wrote and told of Agnes being married and having had a nice little baby boy.

On October 13, 1906, at St. Peters Home, Wentworth, Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, a marriage was registered between Agnes Lane, 18, born in England to Edward Lane and Agnes Woodcock; and Wilfred Davis, 23, machinist, born in England to Jack Davis and Eva Grieves. Lily Lane was a witness to the marriage.

On February 10, 1908, their mother, Mrs. Lane, 29 Crestbury Road, Katherine Road, Forest Gate East, wrote enquiring about girls saying she had some news of importance for them, asked for addresses and photos, and said she had some relatives in Canada who will look them up.

Wilfred and Agnes Lane Davis had at least 3 children: Charles Gordon Davis, born October 23, 1906; Dora Lillian Davis, born June 24, 1908 (who died on November 30, 1908, of indigestion and inflammation of the brain, at the age of 5 months); and Lillian Kathleen Davis, born October 26, 1909.
