NotesParents: James Carlisle Alexander and Janet Barrie, married September 4, 1866, at Glasgow, Scotland.

On September 28, 1893, James Carlisle Alexander, 45, mercantile clerk, died at 27 Peel Street, Glasgow, Lanarkshire, Scotland of broncho-pneumonia. After his death, the five youngest children (Annie born 1883, Agnes born 1885, Janet born 1886, Beatrice born 1889 and Thomas George born 1891) were sent to Quarrier Village Orphanage at Bridge Of Weir.

In 1897, Beatrice Alexander, 8 (along with brother, Thomas George Alexander, 5), arrived at Quebec, Canada, in a group of 118 Quarrier children en route to Brockville, Ontario, Canada.
