A death registration was found for John Ansell: Year of Registration: 1898; Quarter of Registration: Oct-Nov-Dec; Age at Death: 49; District: Woodbridge; County: Suffolk; Volume: 4a; Page: 547.

In 1902, Joseph R. Ansell, 10, arrived at Boston, Massachusetts, USA, in a group of about 400 Barnardo children en route to Toronto and Peterborough, Ontario, Canada. According to Barnardos Ups & Downs (VOL. VIII SEPTEMBER/OCTOBER, 1902 No. 4), he was placed with Thomas Ireland in Warkworth, Ontario, Canada.

On May 26 1926, at Warksworth, Northumberland, Ontario, Canada, a marriage was registered between Joseph Randolph Ansell, 29, farmer, born in England to Joseph Ansell (noted that he did not know his mother's name and had no way of finding out); and another home child, Lily May Norrey, 19, servant born in England, to Alen Norrey (noted that she did not know her mother's name and had no way of finding out). Lily's married sister Mrs Wm McGraw was a witness and recorded as living in Percy Twp.
