NotesIn 1887, Ellen Arnold, 11, arrived at Quebec, Canada, in a group of 18 Maria Rye children en route to Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario, Canada, via Suspension Bridge.

"Copy of Reports of Inspection of Pauper Children sent out to Canada made by Immigration Officers of the Dominion Government and received from the Colonial Office on the 12th December 1888.

Report of Mr. John A. Donaldson, Government Immigration Agent at Toronto.

Ellen Arnold, aged 11. From parish of St. Mary Abbots, Kensington. Placed with Rev. Duncan Davidson, Lot 25, Con. 6, Langside P.O.?A strong healthy girl, but they cannot get her to do anything; is very sulky and troublesome; has an excellent home, and is well cared for. Mrs. Davidson has just made arrangements for returning her to Niagara as she cannot do anything with her."

On January 29, 1902, at Waterloo, Ontario, Canada, a marriage was registered between Ellen Arnold, 25, servant, born in England to Alfred W. Arnold and Florence Wren; and Robert Lennox, 32, laborer, born in Mornington Township, Waterloo, Ontario, Canada, to Robert Lennox and Agnes Williams.
