Notes In 1887, Ellen Arnold, 11, arrived at Quebec, Canada, in a group of 18 Maria Rye children en route to Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario, Canada, via Suspension Bridge.

Ellen Arnold, aged 11. From parish of St. Mary Abbots, Kensington. Placed with Rev. Duncan Davidson, Lot 25, Con. 6, Langside P.O.?A strong healthy girl, but they cannot get her to do anything; is very sulky and troublesome; has an excellent home, and is well cared for. Mrs. Davidson has just made arrangements for returning her to Niagara as she cannot do anything with her."
