Notes Sent by Edmonton Union, placed with James Weir, farmer, Utterson, Stephenson Twp, Muskoka, Ontario
July 11 1902
Age 11, comfortable home, healthy, attends Presbytarian Church, Sunday School and Public School, good character.
Terms-Boarded. Allen is rather a handsome child. He does not appear to me to be contented and complains that he is whipped.
Mr Weir does not think he has made as good progress as he might have outside of his schooling and the impression left on my mind
was that they expect rather more of him than they should. Mr Weir appears to be a pleasant kind of man, but his wife did not impress me as caring very much for the child. They have three small children of their own.
