Alice Akehurst died at the age of 30 in Croydon, England in 1902. After that the children were left to "whatever luck held."

In 1912, Wilfred Akinhurst, 16, arrived at Quebec, Canada, in a group of 167 Barnardo boys en route to Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

[EDITORS NOTE: Alice Marie (known as Marie) was born as Alice Marie Kelly. Their father gave many different surnames to the seven known children of the marriage to Alice Sawyer. At some point she returned to her true surname of Akehurst. Alice died at the age of 21 in 1921 at St. Pancras, London, England.]

Wilfred John Akehurst died in 1952 at Royal Oak, Oakland, Michigan, USA. Olive Dorothy Wallace Akehurst died December 3, 1966, at Royal Oak, Oakland, Michigan, USA.
