Bertha Abbey (B. Abbey) arrived in Quebec with a party of 310 children from Dr. Barnardo, including her brothers Thomas (L. Abbey) and John Abbey (J. Abbey), en route to Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
No further information can be found on Bertha after she arrived in Canada. However, since her brother John returned for a short while, it's also possible that Bertha returned to Yorkshire. There is a marriage registration for Bertha Abbey and James W. Carver found: Year of Registration: 1913; Quarter of Registration: Jan-Feb-Mar; Spouse's Surname: Carver; District: Sculcoates; County: Yorkshire - East Riding; Volume: 9d; Page: 405. (This is not proof that she returned or that this is the correct Bertha Abbey, it is to encourage further research and provide a theory to this child's later life.)
