NotesOn April 20 1897, Annie Abbott, born 1859, admitted to the Workhouse from 30 Chamford St, husband and children in House, she was discharged and readmitted on various occasions between May 1897 and April 1898.

On May 24 1899, Annie Abbott, born 1860, 'Left House' and daughter Alice, born 1898, entered Bethnal Green Union, 3 children in Hitchcock Home, both left on 5 June 1899.

On June 5 1898, Alice Abbott, born 1898, 'Left house, left in street by mother', child sent to Infirmary on 16 July 1900.

On July 16 1900, Alice Abbott, 2, admitted to Bethnal Green Infirmary from Waterloo Rd Workhouse, discharged on 29 August 1900.

On March 5 1901, Alice now 3, went to the Infirmary, no discharge date given.

On Feb 5 1903, Alice Abbott, (year of birth given as 1890 but Union Home records state 1898) admitted from the Infirmary, sent to Leytonstone on Feb 7 1903

On Feb 7 1903, Alice Abbott, born 1898, 'Deserted Left House' Father and Mothers address not known, sent to Eastern Fever Hospital on 10 Feb 1907.

On April 22 1907, Alice Abbott born 1898 readmitted to Leytonstone School (Bethnal Green Union School), 'an adopted child' sent to Highwood School on 12th September 1910.

On 10th November 1910, Alice Abbott, born 1898, admitted to Leytonstone School from the Workhouse, sent to Canada on 12 April 1912 'Adopted, Father Dead, Mother deserted'.

In 1912, Alice Abbott, 13, arrived at Quebec, Canada, in a group of 74 MacPherson children en route to Stratford, Ontario, Canada.

[POSSIBLE MATCH] In February 1919, Alice Abbott, 18, domestic, crossed into the United States through the port of Detroit, Michigan. She declared that she resided in Walkerville, Ontario, Canada; that she had no relatives in Canada; that her final destination was Detroit, Michigan; that she had $23 on her person; that she was going to see a friend, Mrs. Robertson, who resided at 39 King Street, Detroit, Michigan; that she intended to remain permanently in the United States; and that she was born in London, England. She was described as 5 foot 2 inches in height; medium complexion; light brown hair; green eyes.
