On his entry to Canada in 1924, next of kin was given as parents Mr & Mrs W H Abbott, 31 Irvine Road, Colchester, he intended to work in farming.

ABBOTT: Ethel Emily Abbott, beloved wife of the late Douglas Groves Abbott, formerly of Oak Lake, Manitoba, passed away at Virden Health Centre, Virden, Manitoba, Thursday, June 3, 2004 at the age of 90 years. Funeral service will be held from Oak Lake United Church, Oak Lake, Monday, June 7, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. with Mrs. Pam Dean officiating. A private family interment will take place at Oak Lake Cemetery. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made to The Gideon's in Ethel's memory. G. R. Carscadden Funeral Chapel, Virden, in care of arrangements.
