In 1911, Harold Abbott is shown arriving in Canada with a group of "Labourers & Domestics" from various groups en route to Quebec.

On November 9, 1914, Harold Lancelot Abbott enlisted in the Canadian Armed Forces. He declared that his birthdate was May 25, 1893; that he had been born in Brighton, England; that he was single; that he was a rodman by trade; and that his next of kin were Mr. and Mrs. Abbott of Ditchling Road, Brighton, England. He is described as 5 foot 7 inches in height; fresh complexion; blue eyes; fair hair.

Both Samuel James Abbott and Emma Kate F. Abbott died in 1918 in Steyning, Sussex, England.

On January 4, 1919, Harold L. Abbott (Reserve Unit: CRRD, Original Unit: 30(?) Battalion) returned to Canada on the ship Tunisian via the Nominal Roll of Men Returned to Canada, Military District No. 6. His reason for returning was there was no suitable employment in England. He showed that his residence was in Vancouver, British Columbia, and that he had a dependent wife.

Harold Lancelot Abbott died at the age of 70 in June, 1965, in Kimberley, British Columbia, Canada (Registration #1965-09-007966). Burial at Kimberley Cemetery.

Kathleen Evelyn Abbott died at the age of 70 on November 4, 1966, in Kimberley, British Columbia, Canada (Registration #1966-09-014454).
