On September 22, 1915, at Gagetown, Queens, New Brunswick, Canada, a marriage was registered between Herbert William Abbott, 22, born in Erdington, Warwickshire, England, to John Cook and Isabella Abbott; and Laura May Jones, 19, born in Welsford, Queens, New Brunswick, Canada, to Arthur H. Jones and Susan Belyea (Reference: B4/1915).
Herbert and Laura Abbott had one child: Irene Dorothy Abbott, born 1925, and died December 21, 1926, aged 16 months.
On April 12, 1952, Herbert William Abbott, 58, and his wife, Laura May Abbott, 55, traveled to England on the ship Empress of France, docking at Liverpool, England. He declared that they intended to stay at 337 Alwald Road, Wekley Castle, Birmingham, Warwickshire, England; that he was a merchant; and that he intended to return to reside in "other parts of the British Empire."
Laura May Jones Abbott died June 16, 1973. Herbert William Abbott and Laura May Abbott are buried in Welsford Valley Cemetery, Welsford, Queens, New Brunswick, Canada.
