On October 6, 1915, at Wolfville, Kings, Nova Scotia, Canada, a marriage was registered between George Albert Acworth, 24, Soldier, born in London, England, to Sydney and Rose Acworth; and Bessie Bertha Barker, 21, born in Hansport, NovaScotia, Canada, to James and Lydia Barker.

George and Bessie Barker Acworth had at least one child: Ivy Acworth, born August 3, 1916.

On May 9, 1918, at Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, George Albert Acworth, 27, enlisted in the Canadian Armed Forces. He was a member of the Church of England.

George Albert Acworth died at the age of 83 on March 12, 1979, at Brantford General Hospital, Brantford, Ontario. Bessie Bertha Barker Acworth died at the age of 101 on June 10, 1997, at Seniors Home, Brantford, Ontario, Canada. Both were cremated and their remains interred in Hansport, Nova Scotia, Canada.
