In 1901, William Arnold, 2 years of age, was residing Rabley Heath, Codicote, Hertfordshire, England. Other family members included: Annie Arnold, 30; Emily Arnold, 9; Rose Arnold, 7; Thomas Arnold, 4; and Wilfred Arnold, 31, ag. lab. (Source: 1901 Census of England; Class: RG13; Piece: 1299; Folio: 135; Page: 21.)

In 1906 Annie ARNOLD died aged 34 in the Union Workhouse in Hitchin of
cancer, and some time after that the son above, and possibly two more
brothers were sent to Canada.

In 1912, William Arnold, 13, arrived at Quebec, Canada, along with a group of 17 boys en route to Sherbrooke, Quebec, Canada.
