NotesIn 1893, Henry Adams, 13, arrived at Portland, Maine, USA, in a group of 252 Barnardo children accompanied by Mr. Owen and en route to Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

According to Barnardo's Homes magazine Ups and Downs, volume 1, no.5, December 1895, Henry Adams was residing at Dresden, Kent, Ontario, Canada.

In October 1910, Henry F. Adams, 31, farm labourer, entered the United States through the port of Detroit, Michigan. He declared that he resided in Ruthwen, Ontario, Canada; that he had no relations in Canada; that he carried $31 on his person; that he would be staying in a boarding house at 55 Hobart Street, Detroit, Michigan. He was described as 5 foot 8-1/2 inches in height; dark complexion; dark brown eyes; dark brown hair. He immigrated in 1893 on the ship Labrador from England, landing in Portland, Maine.

On March 11, 1912, at Windsor, Essex, Ontario, Canada, a marriage was registered between Henry F. Adams, 32, carpenter, born in Brighton, England, to Wm and Mary Adams; and Hattie Fleming, 32, born in Ruthton, Ontario, Canada, to Joseph Fleming and Sarah Mills. Both resided in Michigan.

Henry and Hattie Fleming Adams had one child: Olive Austin Adams.
