NotesA birth registration was found for Ruth Rebecca Alldridge: Year of Registration: 1890; Quarter of Registration: Jul-Aug-Sep; District: Birmingham (1837-1924); County: Warwickshire; Volume: 6d; Page: 124. Parents: Harry (Henry) Alldridge and Ellen Wallis, married 1889, Birmingham, Warwickshire, England. They had children together both before and after marriage.

Ruth Rebecca was probably named after her grandmother, Ruth (Bull) Alldridge, and her great-aunt Rebecca (Bull) Alldridge, sisters who died very young.

Henry Alldridge was a drunk who beat his wife. He died in 1893 in Birmingham aged 32. In November 1894, Ellen placed William Henry and his 2 brothers John Leonard and Francis, and sister Ruth Rebecca, in the Middlemore Children's Home in Birmingham. Notes from the home describe Ellen's plight as dire with no money to feed her 6 starving children. She sold all their possessions and furniture trying to keep the children fed. The children where in rags and infected with lice.

Ellen kept the 2 youngest children with her but then had Arthur Alldridge, an illegitimate child, before she remarried. Ellen died in 1901, aged 38. Her new husband placed the remaining 3 children in the Middlemore Home.

Ruth Rebecca was placed with the McKenzie family in Pictou, Nova Scotia, Canada in 1896 and stayed with the family until 1911.

She then traveled to Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, in late 1911 or early 1912. On May 8, 1912, she married Samuel George Scott (son of Samuel Scott and Catherine Ann Grace White) at a residence on Elgin Avenue, Winnipeg, Canada.

Samuel George and Ruth Rebecca Al(l)dridge Scott had at least 6 children: Catherine Fraser Scott, born October 12, 1913, at Winnipeg, Canada; Alexander Samuel Scott, born April 8, 1915, at Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada; George Robert Scott, born April 26, 1920, at Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada; Edward Aldridge Scott, born February 21, 1923, in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada; Gordon Lloyd Scott, born January 24, 1927, in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada; and Phyllis Ann Scott, born March 20, 1933, in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.

Samuel George Scott died on January 18, 1957, at the age of 71, in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. Ruth Rebecca Al(l)dridge Scott died on October 5, 1957, in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.
