Parents: Richard Henry Anning and Ada Celia Louisa Bishop, married 1888 in Liverpool, Lancashire, England.

Ada Anning appears to have deserted her family as she is shown residing alone with her mother, Angela Bishop, 59, at 9 Arthur Street, Seaforth, Lancashire, England, in 1901. Her mother is shown as living on her own means and partly that of her son. Ada Anning is shown as being married without occupation.

In 1910, Gertrude Anning, 17, arrived at Quebec, Canada, in a group of 77 Louisa Birt children en route to Knowlton, Quebec, Canada.

On December 29, 1913, at St. James Church, Perth, Lanark, Ontario, Canada, a marriage was registered between Gertrude Anning, 21, born in England to Richard Anning (mother unknown); and Douglas H[arry] Baker, 26, carpenter, born in England to Henry John Baker and Ellen Devrux.

On October 24, 1915, Gertrude Baker, 23, housewife, along with daughter, Dorothy May Baker, 10 months, arrived at Glasgow, Scotland, on the ship Cassandra. She declared that she intended to reside permanent in Scotland and her intended residence was to be 3 Sawmill Road, Partick, Glasgow, Scotland.

On September 23, 1916, Gertrude Baker, 24, clerk, returned to Canada on the ship Missanabie with her daughter, Dorothy Baker, 2.

Douglas Harry Baker died on May 17, 1971, in Ottawa, Ontario, Canda; Gertrude Annie Anning Baker died on May 26, 1995, at Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.
