Notes In 1927, Albert Anderton, 15 (along with brother Charles Anderton, 15), arrived at St. John, New Brunswick, Canada, in a group of Barnardo children. The passenger list stated his next of kin was Reading Union; destination was to his friend Mr J W Hobday, 538 Jarvis St, Toronto; his intended occupation was farming; and his birth place given was Reading.
On May 17, 1930, Albert G. Anderton, 20, returned to visit England on the ship Duchess of Bedford. He declared that his address while in the UK would be The Stables, Whitechurch Hill, Oxon; and that he was a painter.
