On October 4, 1922, at Port Severn, Ontario, Canada, a marriage was registered between John Robert Alderson, 21, farmer, born in England to John Alderson (groom's mother died when he was young and he does not know her name); and Malina Cadeau, 16, born in Port Severn, Ontario, Canada, to Paul Cadeau and Josephine Lefebvre.

On December 11, 1932, John and Malina Alderson lost a daughter, Mary Harris Alderson, aged 25 days, to broncho-pneumonia at their home, 104 Dominion Avenue, Tay, Simcoe, Ontario, Canada.
